Israeli designer Ori Levin from studio tsor design has created ‘Adhoc’: This full-size canoe can be folded into a bag the size of a standard backpack (13 x 23 x 70 centimeters). Weighing 4.1 kilograms, the materials were carefully selected to be both lightweight and resilient: The frame is made of carbon fiber while the hull is made of aramid, a heat-resistant synthetic fabric used in racing sails.
A corner lock holds the telescopic poles to form each end, and a parasol-like mechanism in the center maintains the structure of the sides. The canoe can be assembled in approximately five minutes.
